BUSINESS BAAZIGAR 4.0

SUMMARY

The acumen for business cannot be taught, it’s an art that is naturally elicited amongst a rare breed of brilliance, which nurtures with experiences. COEP E-fest is proud to present its flagship event BUSINESS BAAZIGAR. This event has been the hallmark of E-Fest since its inception. It will expose you to the real world of business where strategies and decisions need to be executed to triumph threats and benefit from opportunity. Come challenge the ultimate test of entrepreneurship to know if you have what it takes to be titled a Business Baazigar!
Rules :


1. Team of maximum 4 members.

2. Frame a business idea requiring Rs.100 or less .

3. Best 6 entries get a chance to implement their ideas in COEP campus within the given time span.

4. Team with the highest profit wins.

5. All team get to carry home their profits.

6. All the teams will get a participation certificate as well.

7. Actual Competition will be held on 25th of March'13 from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm where you will run your business. There are six spots in our college/hostel where you can put up your stall.

8. The location for the spots will be auctioned on the day of the competition.

BULL RUN


Team And Fee Structure:-

Team should comprise of 1 member only. Registration fees is Rs 50/- per team.

Rules:-

1. There are 10 sectors.
2. At the start of the event there will be plenty of shares in each sector.
3. Starting virtual money given to you will be INR 5000 only.
4. At any instance participant can have shares of any number of sectors.
5. There are total 3 rounds where they will have to do all transactions like managing virtual money, selling and buying of shares.
6. Second round will be elimination round. Number of participants going to round three will depend upon the total number of participants.
7. Every participant will be given a paper sheet on which the transactions are to be mentioned before entering the transaction floor. It is mandatory to fill the ‘Transaction sheet’. The transactions cannot be altered after entering the floor.
8. No disclosure in terms of enquiry for methods of changes in prices of shares would be entertained.
9. Be prepared to EVOLVE!!! at any point of time during the event.

FAQs:-

1. What is Bull Run?
Bull Run is basically a virtual stock market and like a stock market the participant buys shares and invests.

2. Who all can participate in this event?
Any person who is keen on testing his market skills or is interested in playing with shares or just wants to experience a stock market environment can participate in the event.

3. Should I have deep knowledge of Share Bazaar or Stock Market for playing this game?
Not at all. You only need to interpret the given NEWS logically and be confident, alert and quick in making decisions.

4. How should I decide to buy or sell the shares?
You just have to interpret the flashing NEWS very logically and relate it with its effect on the costs of shares. Also, you have to interpret the relative effect of one share on other.

5. How do I buy or sell the shares?
A transaction sheet will be provided to you at the start of the round. NEWS would be projected on a large screen outside the transaction floor. You have to fill the ‘Transaction Sheet’ depending upon the news. The sheet would be stamped by the coordinator. Then you submit the sheet to the volunteer who would be handling your transactions on a computer on the Bull Run software. You have to check the transactions on screen of the software. Only after assuring you that the transactions made in the software are as per those mentioned on the sheet, the volunteer would feed the data to the software.

6. Can I make changes in the transactions more than once in a session?
In one session only one transaction is allowed.

7. What if my ‘Transaction sheet’ is lost?
You have to take maximum care of the ‘Transaction sheet’. If lost, it would lead to your disqualification.

QUIZONOMICS


SUMMARY

This event involves using investment skills alongside with perfect timing and luck to not only answer questions that we all think we know the answers to, but also become the smartest contestant in more than just knowledge. Quiznomics is designed with 3 rounds, each involving either earning or losing money (or both) by answering general questions, and the richest team wins a prize! What have you got to lose? Give Quiznomics a shot, and see if you’re destined to be a millionaire or not.

ROUNDS

Round 1: Each team starts off with $100 (virtual). For every wrong answer, a team loses $25 (which goes in the pool) and for every right answer, a team wins $10 along with whatever is in the pool! Of course, if the right answer isn’t called, each team loses $25 and the bucket it emptied for the next question. To spice things up, each team may invest their money in buying bonus cards, such as:
- No loss: This card allows the team to answer without losing any money. It may be used twice.
- No gain: This card ensures that no team gets the pool. It is effective for 1 question only.
- Extra chance: This card allows the team in question to answer twice. It may be used only once.


Round 2: All teams from Round 1 must now compete in an audio/visual round where everyone will be required to identify certain images, logos or sounds. This round involves either winning or losing money without the concept of the pool. It’s every man for himself!


Round 3: The final round is a rapid-fire round, with no losing of money. This will be each team’s redemption round with only 1 bonus card to use. It’s a nasty combination of time and pressure. Think you can beat the test and win over the rest?


RULES :

1.Teams must be or 1 or 2 members.
2.Answering out of turn will result is disqualification, and the team in question will have to equally distribute its money amongst the remaining teams.
3.Teams must ring the bell provided to them before they answer the question.
4.Teams may only give one answer to every question (unless exempted by a bonus card). Multiple answers sets a team back by Rs.100.
5.Bonus cards may be bought just after a team answers a question correctly.
6.Buying 1 bonus card in round 3 is a must. The team with the least money buys first.
7.Rules are subject to change (as are the bonus cards).

Do you wanna experience bidding your favourite players and forming a team!!!!!! Welcome to E-Cell IPL AUCTION - A mock bidding event that offers you the real IPL Auction environment. So, All Cricket lovers, form teams with your friends and come for bidding. At the end of the day, the wise team with the best players wins the game...

Rules:

1. The event will be held on site.

2. Each team should have a minimum of 2 members and a maximum of 4 members.

3. The Judge's decision will be final.

Event format:

Round 1

Aptitude Test-

Prelims will be held as an aptitude test which will judge participants ability of bidding strategy.

Round 2

IPL Bidding Round-

i) This is a real bidding round.

ii) Each team has to purchase 11 players.

iii) Each individual player has given unique rating, winner franchise will decide according to summation of his/her 11 players rating.
